WELCOME TO OUR WEBSITE

We meet at:

West Park Primary School

Marlborough Road

WORTHING BN12 4HD

Meeting on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7.30pm.

(With the exception of August)

We were formed in October 2010 with around ten members. This number has fluctuated a little and finished 2011 with about fifteen members, in 2016 we had 45 members and at the end of 2020 this had increased to 70 members. We would best be described as a mixed group of ladies with a variety of interests ranging from the traditional WI crafts of cooking, embroidery and jam making through to motor bikes, both vintage and modern, languages, wildlife and woodland preservation. The common link is an active interest in life in general and women’s interests in particular. We are an interesting and welcoming group with ages ranging from 35 to 87. We hope you will find us to be happy and welcoming friends.

We meet once a month on the 3rd Monday (with the exception of August). We have a full programme of speakers for the forthcoming year, details of which can be found on our ‘Programme of Events’. In addition, we have a lunch club, craft group, three book groups, a cookery group, gardening group, slimming group and a walking group all meeting monthly. We also have the Stiff Nipples Sea Swimmers and an evening meal is arranged bimonthly for those of us who work. We also arrange one or two trips to the theatre or places of interest during the year (members suggestions welcome). We have had an enjoyable tour of the fashion department at Worthing Museum, a backstage Tour of Worthing theatre, a trip to Petworth Cottages Museum, a theatre trip is to see The Bletchley Girls, A trip to London to see The Girls, Ford Recycling Centre, Brighton Sewers and many more.

We have a Facebook page – Women’s Institute Worthing; please visit for the latest news, tips and information.

We are actively supported by the West Sussex Federation of Women’s Institutes who in turn arrange many fun and educational days. These include the traditional WI crafts, games of all sorts, political debate and self-improvement, public speaking, singing, science and environment, cookery, gardening and more. In fact, if you want it, they will arrange it.

Please note that we are unable to accept visitors to our December (Christmas party) or March (AGM) meetings.
